There are many types of steel balls, but do you know the existence of steel grit? It has a similar name to steel shot, but their raw materials are also the same. So what is the difference between them?

Steel grit is mainly divided into three categories, namely gold steel grit, iron steel grit, and alloy steel grit, which have different compositions, functions, and characteristics. The main product here is irregularly shaped alloy steel grit, which is made of steel balls and crushed. It is mainly made of forged bearing steel that is directly quenched and crushed into steel grit.
The main characteristics of steel grit are as follows:
The alloy steel sand has moderate hardness, strong toughness, strong impact resistance, can be reused repeatedly, good rebound and adhesion, high workpiece cleaning brightness, good process effect, and the cleanliness of the treated metal surface can reach international standards.
Steel shot is mainly used for surface pretreatment of castings before spraying; Sand cleaning of castings; Pipeline descaling, etc. It has important applications in the aviation industry, automotive industry, oil and gas pipelines, factory maintenance, and metal processing.
The raw materials for steel shot and casting are slightly different, the manufacturing process is basically the same, and the scope of application is also basically the same. The big difference is that the hardness of the steel shot is higher. When used for the same product, its lifespan is relatively short. In practical applications, different abrasives should be selected according to the requirements of the workpiece being processed.
The main difference between steel shot and steel sand lies in their different uses, slightly different raw materials, and slightly different production processes, but fundamentally different rules and shapes.
