The formation process of steel shot and precautions for how to recycle it
The production process of steel shot: Firstly, the steel block, wire, and steel chips are melted, and then the molten steel is cast into water by high-speed centrifugal forming with a centrifugal disk, causing the surface temperature of the steel shot to drop sharply and form pellets. This is a quenching process. The quenched pellets are dried, reheated, and tempered in a furnace to achieve the appropriate hardness. The tempered steel shot is then divided into different grades of products that comply with the standards of the American Society of Automotive Engineers through mechanical screening using shot blasting equipment.
In fact, steel balls can be reused, and proper recycling can reduce our cost rate. Steel shot is widely used and reasonably priced, therefore it is favored by many manufacturers. It is used in various fields, but many manufacturers only use it once. Believing that the steel shot has been destroyed and has no practical value, they throw away the garbage, causing a great waste of resources. In fact, used steel balls still have practical value, and they can still be used after secondary treatment.
Steel balls are contaminated due to repeated recycling, and impurities can mix into the steel balls, affecting their continued use. So it is necessary to self clean the impurities in the steel shot. The mixed impurities in the steel shot can be divided into solid impurities and insoluble salts, and different treatment methods should be adopted for these two types of objects.
1. Automatically clean solid impurities through clean air. Steel shot can be recovered through an automatic sand suction separator in the recycling cycle, removing most of the large impurities and more than one-third of the dust. Solid impurities are removed during the process of entering the sand storage hopper through an abrasive screening machine.
2. The soluble salts in steel balls can be removed by regular water cleaning, and steel balls can be alternately used in recycling for different purposes.
If we want to recycle steel balls, we need to clean them to some extent. Only in this way can we make better use of it.
