Alloy steel shot is widely used for descaling and rust removal treatment of steel workpieces before coating, but do you know its technical requirements?

Centrifugal shot blasting equipment is often used in this situation. The spherical shape and lower hardness prevent the steel shot from causing significant wear on the equipment.
Main technical requirements for alloy steel shot:
Specification levels: S780, S660, S550, S460, S390, S330, S280, S170, S110
Microhardness: 40-50HRC
The chemical composition of alloy steel shot: carbon: 0.8% -1.2%, manganese: 0.6% -1.2%, silicon: 0.4% -1.2%, sulfur, phosphorus: ≤ 0.05%;
Metallography: tempered martensite or tempered martensite;
Density ≥ 7.0g/cm3;
The total shortage of alloy steel shot is ≤ 10%;
Foreign impurities ≤ 1%;
Moisture content ≤ 0.2%.
Alloy steel shot is a spherical particle made from special materials through special heat treatment. Firstly, high-quality steel blocks, wires, and steel shavings are melted, and then the molten steel is thrown into water through high-speed centrifugal forming using a centrifugal disk, and continuously quenched to form it. Therefore, the method of preparing it needs to be cautious and strict.
