Steel shot is a spherical particle made of special materials. It is mainly used in industry and technology, shipbuilding, container manufacturing, and factory maintenance. So what is the method of production? Here is the editor's compilation.
The granulation process of steel balls is the entire process. At present, the main methods include impact method, centrifugation method, and atomization method.
The molten steel is dispersed by high-speed and high-pressure water flow, causing the liquid metal to fall into the water, freeze and solidify, and finally be ejected. The disadvantage of this method is that the steel shot has a high hollow rate and is prone to forming irregular shaped shots.
The molten steel is poured into a high-speed rotating throwing plate, which has many small holes around it. Under the action of centrifugal force, the molten steel flies out of the throwing plate and freezes into pellets in the water. The centrifugal method has a much better ball forming effect than the impact method, greatly reducing the proportion of hollow steel balls.
The atomization method is actually a combination of impact method and centrifugation method. Firstly, specialized equipment is used to place molten steel on the surface of a rotating cone to form a metal liquid film. Then, under the action of centrifugal force and surface tension, it is atomized into small droplets and thrown outward. At the same time, frozen water is sprayed out along a position perpendicular to the direction of droplet movement, causing the droplets to quickly freeze into small balls. The steel shot produced by this method has good quality and comprehensive mechanical properties.
The above is the manufacturing method of steel shot. It has many types, and different steel balls require different raw materials and equipment. Production also has related production lines and equipment that can be purchased directly.
